Dow Chemical says it plans to begin full-scale manufacturing of Infuse olefin block copolymers (OBCs) at its Freeport, TX facility in the third quarter. Dow says it recently completed a trial run at Freeport. Dow says the OBCs, which it launched last year, will broadly expand the market for olefin elastomers, challenging ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA), styrene block copolymers, flexible polyvinyl chloride (f-PVC), and thermoplastic vulcanizates (TPVs) across a wide variety of applications including flexible molded goods, elastic fibers and films, and coated fabrics.
