SA: Police fear for man s safety after shots fired

ADELAIDE, Aug 17 AAP - Police are concerned for the welfare of a man believed to have
been wounded when he allegedly exchanged gunfire with police in Adelaide's inner north-west
yesterday.

Police urged the man to seek medical attention and to contact them after a blood-stained
T-shirt was found in Second Street, Brompton.

A search failed to find the man following an incident yesterday afternoon.

Police said they spoke to the man after he was spotted loitering suspiciously outside
a bank on Port Road, Brompton, about 2.20pm but allowed him to drive away and continued
to follow him.

About 40 minutes later the man allegedly fired at police, who fired back, but the man then fled.

The man is described as aged in his mid-40s, about 180cm tall, with blond hair and
a slim build, wearing a blue jumper, blue jeans and black boots.
